To evaluate the ripening of avocado fruits and to determine their harvest time, the Laboratory of Subtropical Plants applies modern and accurate methods. The analysis concerns the calculation of Dry Matter and Oil Concentration in samples of fresh avocado fruits. The results are evaluated based on the EU Regulation 387/2005, which requires a minimum dry matter concentration, in order to complete the maturation process. The producer is provided with a certificate about the suitability of harvesting time of avocado production, ensuring excellent fruit quality, in terms of ripening. The results are issued in one to four working days.
