Hellenic Agricultural Organization “DIMITRA” (ELGO-DIMITRA) hosts a part of the National Citrus Germplasm Bank of Greece (NCGB). In total a wide collection of 164 citrus varieties is preserved, of the known species and rootstocks. The NCGB is located in ex situ fields near to the Institute of Olive Tree, Subtropical Crops and Viticulture (IOSV), (Chania, Crete). Over a 40-year period comparative analysis of various citrus varieties is contacted.
Enrichment of National Citrus Germplasm Bank is continued by the addition of new varieties, local varieties from Greece and most commercial ones from other countries.
