The main focus is the interaction of the genetic material with the environment and the implementation of innovative cultivation techiques. In the National Citrus Germplasm Bank of ELGO-DIMITRA/IOSV, exist 164 varieties, from Greece and other countries while more are constantly added, for the preservation of plant genetic resources, of biodiversity and for their agronomic and qualitative characterization, but also for the creation of new varieties through genetic breeding.
