Research activities of the Lab are focused on the effects of different factors on mineral mutrition of tree crops (olive, citrus, subtropical crops) and soil fertility. Under this framework, several studies have been carried out on evaluating the effects of inorganic fertilizers, bio-regulating products, biotic and abiotic factors, wastewaters and application of organic material on tree mineral nutrition. Moreover, the effects of alternative orchard management practices on carbon and nutrient balance of olive groves have been studied, within the framework of climate change adaptation or mitigation. Apart from research activities, the Laboratory is contributing in the IOSV Services-to-Farmers program, carrying out leaf and soil analyses for farmers. Finally, it is responsible for the Mobile Laboratory Unit of the Institute, which is utilized in both Research- and Service-related activities.
