The laboratory of Vegetable crops of IOSV was established in 2018 and is currently capable to perform a series of analyses regarding key phycological indexes of plants aiming to produce applicable results, participate in research projects and also provide services to agricultural companies and farmers.
These analyses include:
- Estimation of photosynthetic pigments
- Total phenolic, and flavonoid content
- Total sugar content
- Total protein content
- Peroxide and MDA levels
- Ascorbate content
- Antioxidant enzyme activities
- Specific expression of genes.
Laboratory Equipment
UV-Vis spectrophotometer, qPCR system, balances, pH-meter, oven, grinder mill, water purification system, refrigerators, freezers, growth chambers for plants.
The Laboratory of Vegetable crops is currently maned by Dr. Georgios Tsaniklidis Asistant Researcher
