The laboratory of Water Resources-Irrigation & Environmental Geoinformatics, has three (3) priorities:
- The efficient use of irrigation water & the mitigation of climate-water effects on agriculture (drought, floods, erosion).
- Simulation and forecasting of the dynamics of soil-water resources and pollutants (saline water, ΝΟ-3–3 etc.) in the agricultural sector.
- Proper and efficient irrigation techniques in tree crops - Optimization of irrigation systems efficiency & water distribution
The above priorities are implemented using:

- In situ & satellite remote sensing techniques
- Telemetric systems for recording hydrometeorological information, plant physiology and soil-water parameters.
