The research activities of IOSV cover the entire production chain regarding citrus from the propagating material to the qualitative characteristics. Plant nursery material of "prebasic" category are established. A breeding program is implemented focusing upon the creation of new varieties with superior quality characteristics (orange and lemon hybrid). The qualitative characteristics of citrus varieties are evaluated.
